Mr Aaron Denenga

Mr Denenga is a successful agriprenuer with over ten years of experience. He has an excellent track record in farm development and turning farms into efficient commercial enterprises. He won the award for Zimbabwe’s young farmer of the year for two consecutive years. Aaron is a non-executive board member of CFI Holdings Ltd, President of the Federation of Young Farmers Clubs of Zimbabwe and board member of the Zimbabwe Youth Council. He was educated at the University of Pretoria where he obtained his Bachelor of Laws degree.

Dr. Frank Magama

TRB CEO

Dr. Frank Magama is a seasoned tobacco scientist with 18 years of experience at the Tobacco Research Board. Before this appointment, he was the Head of the Plant Breeding Division, chiefly responsible for the development and commercialization of elite tobacco cultivars for Zimbabwe, the SADC region and beyond. He also provided consultancy and advisory services to tobacco-producing countries and companies. Dr. Magama graduated from the University of Zimbabwe with a BSc (Hons) in Agriculture (Crop Science), an MSc in Plant Sciences and Biotechnology from the University of Leeds (England), and a PhD in Plant Molecular Genetics from the University of Dundee (Scotland). He also holds business qualifications; an MBA from NUST (Zim), an Executive Diploma in Business Leadership from the Zimbabwe Institute of Management and a Certificate of Competency in Project Management from the Project Management Institute of Zimbabwe. He is the current President of the Zimbabwe Plant Breeders Association.

Ms Chenai Garise-Nheta

Ms Garise-Nheta is a legal practitioner currently serving as the Deputy Legal Advisor for the Ministry of Lands, Agriculture, Water, Climate and Rural Development. Before joining the Ministry of Lands, Agriculture, Water, Climate and Rural Development Before this, she was a law officer with the Attorney-General’s office and before she was in private legal practice with Karuwa and Associates Legal Practitioners. She graduated with a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Zimbabwe and a Masters of Arts and Development Studies from the Midlands State University.

Professor Florence Mtambanengwe

Professor Mtambanengwe is a seasoned academic with research interests in climate change adaptation integrated Soil Fertility Management (ISFM); sustainable agriculture; plant nutrition, fertilizer development and agricultural biotechnology. She has an impressive publishing record with over 100 publications in peer-reviewed regional and international journals and book chapters. She is currently is the Executive Director for Research and Innovation in the Vice Chancellor’s Office at the University of Zimbabwe. She was educated at the University of Zimbabwe where she earned her BSc Hons Biological Sciences, MPhil (Biological Management of Tropical Soils) and PhD (Soil Science).

Vice-Air Marshall Innocent Chiganze (Rtd)

Retired Air-Vice Marshall Chiganze has vast experience in public administration and the governance of State-Owned Enterprises. He is currently serving as the Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Oil Infrastructure Company of Zimbabwe and Chairman of Petrol Zimline. He holds a Masters in Business Administration from the Women’s University in Africa and a Masters in Development Studies.

Dr Dumisani Kutywayo

Dr Kutywayo is a seasoned researcher with research interests in agronomy, plant pests and diseases. He is currently the Director of Crop Research in the Department of Research and Specialist Services, Ministry of Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development. He was educated at the University of Zimbabwe where he obtained a BSc Agriculture (Hons) Degree, the University of London (Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine) for his MSc in Applied Entomology, the University of Pretoria where he obtained a Certificate in Research Methodology and the University of Greenwich where he obtained his PhD.

Mr Stanley Mutepfa

Mr Mutepfa is an entrepreneur with business interests in farming, processing and selling agricultural products. He is currently the Managing Director and founding shareholder of Shasha Tobacco (Pvt) Ltd. Before this, he was the Chief Executive Officer of the Tobacco Industry and Marketing Board of Zimbabwe. He was educated at the University of Zimbabwe and University of London (Wyn College) where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture and a Masters in Agricultural Development, Agricultural Economic respectively.

Mrs Miti is a seasoned tobacco grower. She is also an Administration and Finance Officer at Mutungura & Partners Legal Practitioners and before this, she had a lengthy career in local government.
