The Plant Breeding Programme is aimed at developing and providing high yielding, superior quality, multi-disease resistant varieties to maximise grower returns. The vibrant and prolific programme has availed over 45 tobacco varieties in the last 60 years. Many more grower, merchant and region-specific burley, flue-cured, oriental and darkfire-cured tobacco varieties will be released soon.
